For £1,425, the plan includes collection from anywhere in the UK, care of the deceased, a coffin, cremation fees, doctors’ fees, transport to the crematorium and hand-delivery of ashes. The cost of funerals can be a minefield with various additional costs, often added at the time of need when those suffering from bereavement are at their most vulnerable. Our all-inclusive direct cremation plan includes the essential services needed for a simple, unattended cremation, with no funeral service and no mourners present at the crematorium.

Transport to one of our nominated mortuaries, where your loved one will be prepared and allowed to rest until the cremation.

About our Direct Cremation Funeral Plan

A Direct Cremation is ideal for those who don’t want a fuss and simply require a service that meets their needs, with no hidden costs and no hidden extras, other than things such as when a larger coffin is required.

Direct cremation services can be simply arranged without a funeral to meet your needs. Please feel free to contact our support team if you have any questions or concerns.

When your loved one passes away they will be collected and taken to one of our reputable mortuary services where they will be respectfully cared for.

Your loved one will then be taken in an appropriate funeral vehicle to the crematorium. The cremation then takes place, usually without mourners.

The ashes can then be returned to their loved ones so they can choose how and when they say goodbye, please note this can take up to six weeks for the ashes to be delivered, but we will do our upmost to have the ashes delivered as soon as practically possible. Remember ...

Can I write my will over the phone and how much does it cost?

The cost of making a will over the phone is £ 99 for a single will or £165 for couples. Our support team are here to help and answer any questions. We will listen to your needs and make sure the will is completed exactly as per your wishes. We will then print off and send it out to you in the post, presented in a professional folder for you to store and keep. We also store a copy of your will here at Crystal for your peace of mind. Unlike many other Will writers this is a free service offered by Crystal Life Planning.

If I choose the direct cremation plan, will there be a coffin?

Yes, the coffin is a veneered traditional coffin with a light oak effect finish. It is made from a laminated material with a wood-effect covering, rather than solid wood. This coffin is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and FFMA (Funeral Furnishing Manufacturers’ Association) approved, ensuring it meets environmental and industry standards.

How does a direct cremation work?

A Direct Cremation allows you to say goodbye to a loved one in your own time, celebrating there life in your own way.

By purchasing a Direct Cremation Plan, the price you pay guarantees your funeral for the future, giving you and your family the peace of mind that your funeral is taken care of.

The deceased is collected from anywhere in England, Scotland & Wales and taken to one of our reputable mortuary services where they will be respectfully cared for.

An appropriate funeral vehicle will take the deceased to the crematorium where the cremation will take place, without mourners.

We will include the free delivery of your Ashes with our 'All Inclusive' pure and simple direct cremation plan. 

What is included in Crystal’s direct cremation plan?

The plan includes collection from anywhere in the UK, care of the deceased, a simple coffin, cremation fees, doctors’ fees where required, transport to the crematorium, an unattended cremation and hand-delivery of ashes.

Can I pay monthly for a direct cremation plan?

Yes. You can pay in full or spread the cost over 24 monthly payments. Check the payment terms before purchasing so you understand exactly what is included and when the plan is fully paid.

Can family attend a direct cremation?

No. A direct cremation is unattended, which means family and friends do not attend the crematorium. Families can arrange a separate memorial, wake or celebration of life if they wish.

Are cremation fees included in a direct cremation?

Yes, cremation fees are included in the plan. This helps protect your family from this cost when the time comes.

What happens to the ashes after a direct cremation?

After the cremation, the ashes are hand-delivered to the family.

*The cost of Crystal Funeral Plans varies depending on what they include.

Instalment payment options may not be suitable or available if you have been diagnosed with an illness or condition which means you are likely to pass away within the next 12 months.

Pay in Full
  • Plan cover begins immediately.
  • You have the right to cancel at any time. You will receive a full return of payments if you cancel within the first 30 days. If you cancel outside of this period a Cancellation Charge of £249 applies.
Paying Monthly
  • Spread the cost of the plan over 24 months with no instalment fee.
  • Plan cover only starts when payment is made in full for the plan*
  • If you stop making payments we may cancel your plan. If this happens you will receive a refund of payments made minus a £249 Cancellation Charge and you will no longer be covered by the plan.
  • You have the right to cancel at any time. You will receive a full return of payments if you cancel within the first 30 days. If you cancel outside of this period a Cancellation Charge of £249 applies.
