About our Direct Cremation Funeral Plan

A Direct Cremation is ideal for those who don’t want a fuss and simply require a service that meets their needs, with no hidden costs and no hidden extras, other than things such as when a larger coffin is required.

Direct cremation services can be simply arranged without a funeral to meet your needs. Please feel free to contact our support team if you have any questions or concerns.

When your loved one passes away they will be collected and taken to one of our reputable mortuary services where they will be respectfully cared for.

Your loved one will then be taken in an appropriate funeral vehicle to the crematorium. The cremation then takes place, usually without mourners.

The ashes can then be returned to their loved ones so they can choose how and when they say goodbye, please note this can take up to six weeks for the ashes to be delivered, but we will do our upmost to have the ashes delivered as soon as practically possible. Remember ...

Can I write my will over the phone and how much does it cost?

The cost of making a will over the phone is £ 99 for a single will or £165 for couples. Our support team are here to help and answer any questions. We will listen to your needs and make sure the will is completed exactly as per your wishes. We will then print off and send it out to you in the post, presented in a professional folder for you to store and keep. We also store a copy of your will here at Crystal for your peace of mind. Unlike many other Will writers this is a free service offered by Crystal Life Planning.

If I choose the direct cremation plan, will there be a coffin?

Every Crystal Cremation Plan includes a solid pine coffin.

What is an executor and how do you appoint them?

An executor of a will is somebody you nominate to carry out the wishes left in your will. They could be a friend, family member or a professional – the most important thing is that they feel comfortable and confident administering your estate.

How do you choose who inherits your estate?

Simply put, that is totally up to you, we at Crystal Life Planning value our clients wish, so if you want to leave your estate to your partner, your parents, your children or your favourite charity, its your choice. However, choosing who you leave your estate to is an important decision and careful consideration should be given when making these choices.

Are there any hidden costs?

Our Funeral Plans are priced in an open, clear and transparent way. Once you have paid your plan in full you can take comfort knowing that the burden has been taken away from your family. The only additional fees are if a larger coffin is required or the removal of a pace maker and other related medical interventions. These can be discussed with one of our team when you take out your plan.

What happens if Crystal Cremations go out of business?

If Crystal Funeral Planning goes out of business the Trust will appoint a new provider and write to each plan holder to offer two options:

- Keep the plan active with the newly trust appointed provider

- A refund

The Trust holding client funds is managed by an independent board who's primary role is to guarantee and protect client funds.

Crystal Plan Holders are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Terms & Conditions

*The cost of Crystal Funeral Plans varies depending on what they include.

Instalment payment options may not be suitable or available if you have been diagnosed with an illness or condition which means you are likely to pass away within the next 12 months.

Pay in Full
  • Plan cover begins immediately.
  • You have the right to cancel at any time. You will receive a full return of payments if you cancel within the first 30 days. If you cancel outside of this period a Cancellation Charge of £249 applies.
Paying Monthly
  • Spread the cost of the plan over 24 months with no instalment fee.
  • Plan cover only starts when payment is made in full for the plan*
  • If you stop making payments we may cancel your plan. If this happens you will receive a refund of payments made minus a £249 Cancellation Charge and you will no longer be covered by the plan.
  • You have the right to cancel at any time. You will receive a full return of payments if you cancel within the first 30 days. If you cancel outside of this period a Cancellation Charge of £249 applies.
